Caerleon Amphitheatre, Barracks and Baths
The site of the 50-acre (20.3ha) Roman legionary fortress of Isca, the permanent base of the Second Augustan Legion in Britain from about A.D. 75. Impressive remains of the fortress baths, amphitheatre, barracks, and fortress wall. Videos available at the fortress baths. OS map 171: ST 337906

Further Information: The amphitheatre and barracks are open sites. Open sites are unstaffed and open to the public with no admission charge at all reasonable times, usually between 10.00 and 16.00 daily.
Most sites are closed on 24, 25 and 26 December and 1 January. Full details are available from Cadw Site Operations Unit, tel. 01443 336000. Last admission to this site is thirty minutes before closing.
